The Windsor Planning Department has six full-time staff positions, and the make-up of these positions is as follows:

The Planning Department reviews and makes recommendations on all development projects within the Town, enforces the Town's zoning ordinance, and provides the full range of community development services normally associated with an incorporated municipality.

The Planning Department also processes all of the building permit applications within the Town, but unlike quite a few other municipalities, the Planning Department does not perform the Town's building inspections. The building inspection function of the Town is facilitated by an independent building inspection agency which is contracted by the Town to perform these inspections.
